From the smallest red vessels to more protruding purple veins, we have a procedure that can reduce their appearance and restore your confidence.

Vascular treatments for all types of vein issues

There are two main ways to attract unsightly leg veins: through vein injections or laser removal. Learn more about each option below.

Sclerotherapy (Vein Injection)

  • What is Sclerotherapy?
  •  Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat uncomplicated spider veins and uncomplicated reticular veins. The treatment involves the injection of a solution into the affected veins.
  • What is Asclera®?
  • Asclera® (polidocanol) is the prescribed medicine that Genesis Med Spa injects for a Sclerotherapy procedure.

  • How does Asclera® work?
  • Asclera® is a sclerosing agent that is injected into the vein. It works by damaging the endothelium, the cells lining the inside of blood vessels. This causes blood platelets and cellular debris to attach to the lining of the vessels; eventually, cellular debris and platelets cause the blood vessel to clot. Over time, the clotted vein will be replaced with tissue.
  • How long is each session?
  • A typical sclerotherapy session lasts 15 to 45 minutes. One injection is usually administered per inch with multiple injections per session. Following treatment, compression stockings or support hose should be worn continuously for 2 to 3 days and for 2 to 3 weeks during the day time. Repeat sessions may be necessary.

Laser Vein Removal

  • What is Laser Vein Removal?
  • This treatment helps remove unwanted varicose and spider veins for a healthier appearance on the legs and face. Leg vein treatments combine safe and effective levels of laser and radiofrequency (electric current) energies to remove leg veins and other unwanted vessels. The leg vein treatments combine light and electric energy for ideal outcomes and improve leg veins and vascular lesions with a very low risk of side effects.
  • How many treatments are required?
  • Most patients will need between 1 to 3 treatments.
  • How often are treatments done?
  • Treatment sessions are typically 6 to 8 weeks apart. Smaller spider veins may be treated every 4 weeks.
  • How long do treatments take?
  • Each treatment session typically takes between 20 to 45 minutes.
  • Does the treatment hurt?
  • The sensation may be described as a “hot pinch”, like someone lightly snapping an elastic band on your skin. Patients tolerate the treatment well by either cooling the skin during treatment and/or use of a topical anesthetic cream that numbs the skin.
