MonaLisa® Touch is a unique laser technology that involves energy emitted from a comfortable probe inserted into the vagina. It uses fractional CO2 energy to therapeutically create microinjuries in the vaginal tissue. This process jumpstarts the production of healthy new collagen, elastin, and blood vessels, which improves the health of the vaginal tissue over time. The improvement in collagen levels results in tighter, more lubricated tissue, leading to better sexual function.

The O-Shot® is indicated in individuals who have difficulty achieving orgasm.  They might be experiencing latency, where it takes a long time to climax, or they might want to increase the intensity of the orgasm.  The O-Shot uses your body’s innate healing ability to achieve those goals. Your blood contains growth factors, which support many regenerative functions such as tissue regrowth. During treatment, our providers will collect a blood sample and place it in a centrifuge to separate out the blood cells.  The resulting plasma is injected into key areas around the vagina, where the growth factors will begin to heal tissue and promote blood flow and enhance sensitivity.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Virtually anyone looking to restore healthy vaginal tissue can benefit from MonaLisa® Touch. It can also greatly benefit patients with certain conditions affecting the vulva, such as lichen sclerosus. If you’re pregnant or have an active vaginal infection, you may not be a good candidate for MonaLisa® Touch.

Good candidates for the O-Shot® are people who don’t have certain blood and bleeding disorders. Because the O-Shot® uses your own blood sample, you’ll have a lower risk of allergic reaction, making it more available to people impacted by allergies. WHO IS A CANDIDATE?

Any healthy woman who is interested in restoring the health of the vaginal tissue and either cannot use or elects not to use vaginal hormones, may be a candidate for MonaLisa Touch®. Women with lichen sclerosus and other conditions involving the vulva can also benefit from the MonaLisa Touch®. The only contraindications to MonaLisa Touch® are pregnancy and active vaginal infection. 

THE MONALISA TOUCH® TREATMENT

The MonaLisa Touch® device employs fractional CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser energy for skin resurfacing. No anesthesia is required, and this treatment is performed on an outpatient basis.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MONALISA TOUCH®

There is no downtime required following this treatment, so patients can feel free to return to normal activities. However, sexual activity should be avoided for 2-3 days for the best results. Most women will require three treatments each spaced six weeks apart for optimal results. A touch-up appointment may also be needed once per year to maintain results.

THE O-SHOT® TREATMENT

PRP treatments begin with a simple blood draw from the arm. The blood sample is then placed into a machine called a centrifuge which spins it to separate the red blood cells and platelet-rich plasma. The platelet-rich plasma contains growth factors that stimulate stem cells to increase blood flow and generate healthy tissue growth in the injected areas (in this case, the anterior vaginal wall). PRP is then injected just beneath the urethra. Treatment is painless because the vaginal wall is treated with local anesthetic before injection.

There is no downtime required following O-Shot® treatment. However, patients may notice minor bleeding, swelling, or a feeling of fullness within the vagina for the first couple of days.
